Several times we have used Expedia to book our lodging and gotten a
nice
reduction in price.
Lodging in Canada
- Riverside Resort - near
Fredericton, NB.
Used to be a Holiday Inn. Nice area but a little off the beaten path
so may not have had enough clientel to keep it as a Holiday Inn.
Breakfast was not free and was worst breakfast I've actually ever had.
Wouldn't recommend this place.
- Anne Shirley Motel & Cottages -
in
Cavendish, PEI.
Nice. In the center of things.
Lodging in New England.
-
Holiday Inn, Burlington, VT. Stayed in winter of 2015/2016.
- Hotel Wales in Manhattan, New
York
Stayed here in Feb. of 2012 with a rate of $259 plus taxes per night
for a king suite.
- Gabriels Bed & Breakfast - in
Provincetown, MA.
Had a very nice stay here in November, 2009, with the off peak rate.
- Chester Bulkley House - in
Old Wethersfield, CT.
Stayed here June 13, 2009. This was the weekend when many of the
homes
in Old Wethersfield are open for free to CT. residents, but they let
us
slide, being from MA. Tom made a hearty and delicious breakfast and
the accomodations were fine. A great little neighborhood to walk
around in and take in the old homes.
- Herbert Grand Hotel - in
Kingfield, ME.
We went here on the last weekend of September and the
falls colors were wonderful. The hotel is nice, particularly for this
sparsely populated area.
- Little River Lodge - we had
a great time at this B&B in a Cutler, ME. (saw in Jan 2016 that its no longer taking guests and is up for sale at 195K, sad)
A very quiet part of Maine
which has a fantastic puffin trip.
- Fairhaven Inn - a
nice B & B in Bath, ME.
- Belfast Harbor
Inn -
a nice small scale hotel in Belfast, ME.
Very good rates and very
quiet in the winter.
- Amerscot House - a nice B & B in
Stow, MA.
Within an easy drive to Boston.
-
Best Western - in Northampton, MA.
Perhaps the best reasonably-priced hotel in Northampton.
-
Blue Spruce Motel
- in Middlebury, VT.
Served fine for a trip in
November 2006.
- Coos Motor Inn - in
Lancaster, NH.
Reasonable hotel; I'm sometimes up this way in the winter.
Lodging in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
- Philadelphia
Marriott Downtown - in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Stayed here on the last Thurs and Friday of August of 2009 for $169 a
night, which included buffet breakfasts for my wife, two children and me.
It was an excellent place to base oneself to get to know the myriad of
sights within downtown Philadelphia.
- Oceanview Motel - in
Wildwood Crest, New Jersey.
Stayed here on the last Sat and Sun of August of 2009 for $160 a night.
Beach was great and we biked on the strand with a four-wheel rental
bike. Cape May is a couple mile away also. The first night was rough
as the neighbors partied hard; they left there liquour bottels out for
display the next morning. But the next night was great.
Lodging in the Minnesota area.
Lodging in the California area.
- Residence Inn, Palm Desert. Was great, even without the discount I received. Stayed in 2014.

Indio - fine
