In 1998, during the Christmas period, I took the bus with my wife and her family to Villahermos, Tabasco. There, in the state of Tabasco, we went to La Parque La Venta, a wonderful park which contains many Olmec sculptures/monuments and a small, but nice, zoo. We visited the Museo Carlos Pellicer in Villahermos, which was great for Olmec and Maya art and sculpture. We also went to the ruins at Comacalco, which have a unique construction. The grass at Comacalco was a spectacular green. The highlight of the trip was renting a car and visiting Palenque, the exquisite ruins in the state of Chiapas. You can see the location of Palenque in this map, and the state of Tabsco is just to the left of Chiapas.
